2011 Vintage
The growing season started three weeks later than normal. Spring was colder and wetter than average. 40% more rain fell in March, April and May, with the temperature 30% cooler than the average in April to June. When the vines finally managed to grow by the end of May, the season was one month behind “normal”. Finally in mid-July, the temperature rose to almost normal for a cool and dry summer; only reaching 90° the last few days of August. The fruit set, following bloom in mid-July, was above normal with larger than average clusters. Harvest at Torii Mor was from October 24th through November 9th.
2013 Winemaker Notes:
Sweet and soft with just enough spice and earth to make you sip twice, the 2011 Nysa is our classy leading lady. Notes of roses, cinnamon, cherries and chocolate make this a perfect food wine, especially for nights that call for a little something more. While Nysa is tasting beautifully now, it will only get better with age.
