The 2012 Olson Vineyard is sweet and floral, with red fruit mixing with honeysuckle mixing with roses mixing with just a touch of perfume. Forward flavors, dark chocolate notes, and silky tannins, envelope the mouth and carries the finish long after your first taste. If you pay attention you'll even taste a glimpse of griotte cherries (red cherries soaked in brandy)!
Olson Vineyard is Torii Mor’s estate vineyard, located in the Dundee Hills AVA of the Willamette Valley. The vineyard was first planted in 1972, making it one of the oldest vineyards in the valley. Olson Vineyard is LIVE certified.
The wine aged for twenty one months in French oak barrels: 12% new oak, 24% one year oak and the rest neutral. The barrels were racked in May 2013, after Malo-Lactic fermentation, then again in August when the blend was put together before returning to barrels until bottling.
